Marta Barandiy, the founder of Promote Ukraine and Representative of the Ombudsman of Ukraine in Belgium and the EU, is once again heading to Ukraine on a critical humanitarian mission.
This time, her journey will take her to the frontline city of Pokrovsk, a place with deep cultural significance, now heavily shelled by Russian forces. Pokrovsk, known as the birthplace of Mykola Leontovych, the composer of the world-renowned “Carol of the Bells,” has become a symbol of resilience amidst the ongoing russian war on Ukraine.
Responding to an urgent request from Ukrainian soldiers, Barandiy is personally delivering vital supplies to those on the frontlines. Among these are an evacuation vehicle and an ambulance, both filled with essential goods needed to support the brave soldiers defending Ukraine’s sovereignty, freedom, and democracy.
“The goal of this mission is €20,000,” Barandiy stated. “I am forced to withdraw this money from the savings of Promote Ukraine, canceling other important projects. But none of these projects is as important as saving the lives of Ukrainian soldiers.” Marta emphasizes that the protection of Ukrainian soldiers—and, by extension, the values of freedom and democracy—is paramount. “Every drop helps,” she urges, calling others to contribute to this vital mission. “Help Ukrainians save freedom and democracy,” every contribution, she believes, brings Ukraine one step closer to peace and freedom.
